ML CMA account as banking and not investment
dmayo2
Does anyone know how to set up download transactions from ML CMA (Beyond Banking) as a banking account rather than an investment account?

ML is a brokerage. THUS, by law, they CANNOT offer a true checking account. What you can do, however is do TOOLS, Account List, click EDIT adjacent to your taxable ML brokerage account and select "Show Cash in a checking account". That will cause a pseudo-checking account to be created. And the cash transactions in the brokerage account to be moved to it.
Then click EDIT adjacent to that account, click "Display Options" and set Intent to "Spending.

Thanks @NotACPA
Another question -- trying to rename and don't see a global (let alone a RegEx) function, as all my Payees are "[NAME] Visa Deferred" where Name is the actual name: "Amzn Mktp Us Visa Deferred"; "Chevron 0377319 Visa Deferred" etc.

Take a look, in Q Help, at "Renaming Rules". Is "Visa Deferred" the name of the account? Does it have any meaning to you? But this will only impact new downloads ... not existing.
As an alternative, although it will take several steps, you can do a FIND ALL on "Amzn Mktp US" and change it to "Amzn Mktp" (or another name of your choosing. Repeat for Chevron, etc.
