Is this the built in report accessed from Reports > Net Worth & Balances?
Is the Account Balances report also affected?

Yes, using the built in reports in Net Worth & Balances. Both reports are affected. I have two checking accounts where the net worth/account balance reports do not match the register balances. All other accounts are fine. Both checking accounts are reconciled and online balances match current balances. Noticed problem April 15. Currently running R40.21. Both checking accounts use paycheck function. How can I tell if one or more are corrupted? Will it be enough to delete the paycheck entries and re-enter using a manually split transaction? Thanks for the insights and help.

If you follow the instructions in the discussion I linked, that will determine for sure if you are experiencing the paycheck corruption issue.
You can try to repair the affected paychecks, which may go back for several years. Or you can restore a backup as described in the linked discussion. Here it is again:
