Hate new Quicken - do not want my information in Quicken Cloud

:( I wanted you to know I have been using Quicken for at least 30 years and I hate the new Quicken. I do not want my information on cloud, I simply want to keep my information private and I hate all the extras. I will use it because I have to but am not at all happy with it.

What version did you have before?  Why did you get a new version?  if you haven't done too much you can go back to your old version.  If it was before 2013 you can get 2013 for free if you aren't going to download transactions or do anything online.  I'm staying on Quicken 2013.  It runs on my Windows 10.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

Do you use any of the online downloading of transactions from your bank or investments ?
The Quicken Cloud is an optional feature to allow access from the Quicken Mobile App or website access via browser

@Ps56k2 The way I understand it is if you ever copy a file, or restore a file, you will be using the "Cloud" regardless if you have and or use online downloading. I use Web Connect which bypasses using Intuit's influence to the cloud, and I'm sure the instances I stated above still hold true.

I just read where apple's cloud has been found to have malware on it also!

Am I correct in my understanding from above?

I think it's very important not to mislead people into thinking that their information is not located anywhere except on their PC, I think that was the point Padeita was making!

Good for everyone using quicken to know ... if Intuit's cloud were to be hacked (or Quickens?!), and a class action lawsuit were to follow there would not be enough money in any insurance or Quicken coffers to even cover a $100 loss each, from 2.5 million users!

Easy to test - just log onto the Quicken Web Browser access portal - and see if anything pops up -
Scroll to bottom left nav menu - click on PROFILE to see linked QDF data files

No.  With a Quicken subscription, every Quicken file has an associated cloud account regardless of whether we have ever enable Sync.  We may delete the cloud account but it will be automatically recreated when we open the Quicken file.  We are able to limit the transaction data in the cloud account by limiting the Online Services we use.

Note: Both the Direct Connect and the Web Connect connection methods bypass Intuit's servers.

@Sherlock I know that's true as do you,  but what about the other 2,499,998 million users? How many  of them actually know that and how many of them actually understand that. I present to you that there is a very high percentage of them that have no Idea about it. I haven't looked, but I doubt that Quicken has gone out of their way to talk about that in there "security" section. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot to come out and say to "turn sync off, and buy the way that will limit many functions on Quicken. Oh yes and by the way, if you want the most security, don't use Express web connect... bang - they just shot the other foot!

The only way we learn about this is from the super users, and I'd be surprised if you folks haven't heard something from Quicken about cooling your jets when you discuss this stuff in the community. As I said to others . One thing Quicken is not, is a charity!

It seems apparent to me as I use only web connect, that I know there is a sync process happening when I make a copy of a file, or if I do a reinstall of a back up copy, even though I have Sync turned off. I honestly believe that when I see that message when I do either of those things, that there is some kind of movement to/from the cloud, and not just in my PC.

YES - BUT - you have to split the "context" between Quicken User acct info stored in the Cloud Account for everyone -
vs - the several different scenarios where your access data and proxy server results are stored in the cloud.
These two items are totally different and can't just be lumped into one sentence regarding "cloud data".
