Contributing to multiple savings goals with one transaction

I'm running 5 savings goals. Contributions for each occur monthly, and all source funds come from one account. Rather than create individual transactions and reminders for each, I tried to create one transaction, configuring a split to find all five savings goals with one monthly reminder. It did not work. I can set up the transaction just fine, creating the split without problem. When I click on the enter button, I am asked to choose the transaction type. Regardless which type I choose, nothing happens. The transaction will not enter and update my source account register or any of the savings goal registers.
Support is at a loss on this one.
Has anyone else tried this? If so, did you ever get it to work? If so, how?

We may not split a transfer to a savings goal. If you would like use one reminder, I suggest using a Scheduled Transaction Group: press Ctrl + J and select Add > Scheduled Transaction Group Basically, you create the memorized payees from the savings goal transfer transactions and then schedule them to be entered as a group.1
