Add Loan to Quicken

I opened a loan back in Jan. 2022. Payments are being made from checking account. Have added loan but cannot get payments to update loan balance. Can anyone help?

If you are uploading your Bill Payments from your Checking Account, go to Online Center. Click on Payments. Fill in the Payee. The Total Amount. Click Split. Under Category, click on Transfers and choose the one for your Loan Register. For Memo type in Principle. In Amount, edit the Amount for the Principle Payment. The Amount remaining is the Interest Amount. For Category, you would choose, Interest Exp or Loan Payment:Interest, depending on how you set up your Categories. Under Memo type in Interest. Click Ok. In Memo, type in Due: Aug. 15, 2022. Click Enter. Then when finish entering your other checks, Close Online Center and click the Down Arrow next to One Step Update and click on Update Settings. Enter the Vault Password, and click on Settings. You can now review what is being Updated, before clicking on Update Now.
