How to resolve Error occurred while installing Quicken for Mac

I downloaded Quicken for MAC (US) and got this message: An error occurred while installing Quicken.
I tried again and the download would not open.
I deleted the download and restarted the MacBook Air running Sierra version 10.12.6 over Chrome Version 103.0.5060.134 (Official Build) (x86_64).
Still no luck.
Any advice? Is the laptop too old?

Quicken Mac requires at least High Sierra; it will not run on Sierra. Officially, Quicken supports the current operating system (Monterey) and the most recent two operating systems (Big Sur and Catalina), but it definitely runs okay on Mojave and to the best of my knowledge on High Sierra. (I'm surprised it doesn't give you an error message of some sort when you try to run the installer.)
Can you upgrade your old Mac one operating system forward, to High Sierra?
