online financial account access

It is absolutely absurd that we can not edit the password for online access to our banking and credit card accounts. Having to deactivate access and then reactivate cause the institution to download hundreds of previously matched transactions that can then only be deleted one at a time. Quicken has to do better. and their support web page isn't working can call or chat.

I am sorry to hear about this difficulty with changing credentials, and with reaching chat support. Thank you for looking to the Quicken Community for assistance.
First, do you have pop-ups enabled when you are attempting to set up an interaction with Quicken Chat Support? If not, here is a FAQ listing steps for enabling these, as some browsers block the chat client unless permission is given.
Also, what financial institution are the accounts being discussed associated with? Note that you should be able - in certain circumstances - to update the password for your banking institution using the steps listed below, from this Support Article:- Log in to your bank's website.
- Change your password (this is sometimes necessary in cases where special characters are involved).
- Launch Quicken and go to Tools > Password Vault > Add/Edit Passwords.
- Click on the account in the Password Vault.
- Choose Change Password for the account.
- Enter the same password you just used to log into the bank's website, and click Change, then Done.
- Select Tools > One Step Update to confirm that the error is resolved.
Thank you,
Quicken Jared0
