Mandatory Chase update

I rec'd an email this morning telling me me I have to update my Chase accounts. Followed the link to the instructions. When I go to "update" on my Chase accounts in Quicken, I do not receive the prompt to change to the new connection. It simply updates my Chase accounts as it always has. An observation on my part: it seems as if every time Quicken comes out with some sort of "new and improved" feature, it causes nothing but problems. I think that in addition to instructions for installing new updates, some sort of instruction to how to back out (when something invariably goes wrong) should be included.

Same issue. I went to tools/account list/transaction download says "Yes (Improve connection)" Am I supposed to click the Improve connection hyperlink?

[Removed - Disruptive] I finally figured out how to update (don't follow the instructions here). It updated my Chase accounts but the update apparently deleted a bunch of old transactions throwing my balance off by a huge amount. Plus I lost a lot of transactions. I figured out how much the balance was off (by thousands of dollars) and simply entered a "correction" line which corrected the final balance. But everything else is off by huge amounts. I could simply restore a backup, but the restored backup wouldn't include the "Update" which would have to be re-installed and then right back to square one.

Why does every Quicken update that is supposed to make life easier for the users always result in a boatload of problems that have to be dealt with?

[Removed - Disruptive] Went to download my Chase transactions this morning and it downloaded about a dozen transactions from a month ago that had already been accepted and entered - all of these transactions tagged as "New". And this happened for all of my Chase accounts. I had to delete all of these "New" transactions one at a time. At least this time it didn't change my ending balance.

Once again, can someone from Quicken explain how this "new and improved" download system benefits us users? [Removed - Speculation/Inaccurate] The old way worked just fine.

I received the same email telling me it was time to update. I did an update yesterday and this morning, but Quicken did not ask me to do anything differently. I'm still on direct connect.

I would contact Quicken Support and ask them to look at it because by this time you certainly should have the prompt to do the conversion.  The cutoff for this is on the 26th.
