Bill & Income Reminders are displayed at bottom in separate area of Downloaded Transactions

When I open Quicken, my start up page is the register for my primary checking account. Since the last update, the next Bill and Income reminders display at the bottom of the register. How do I stop this??????

At the top right of the Account Register you should see an icon that looks like a clock with an upside down triangle to the right of it.  Click on that and then make sure Don't show reminders is selected.
Did this resolve the issue for you?

  • The "Don't show reminders" is selected. I tried unselecting, restarting Quicken, and Bill and Income reminders appear at the bottom of the register. Personally, I think this is a "new feature" with the last update from Quicken. I just wish they would let users know how to overcome some of their features when they update :-). I've been a Quicken user since 1998, and I've never had a problem adjusting things just the way I like them. Thank you for taking the time to help--if you find out the answer, please send me another message. Thanks again.

I had assumed you were talking about reminders showing up toward the bottom of the account register.
But now I wonder if you are talking about reminders showing up just below the account register.  Is that what you are referring to?
If so, you can click on the "V" (circled in red in the following picture) to collapse that section.

  • Currently, that's how I'm dealing with it. I hope the next update deletes this function--I find it quite annoying. Thanks for responding--for now your suggestion is the best option.

The reason why those Reminders show up in that section below the account registers is because you likely have your Reminders set to "remind you" of the Reminders a certain number of days prior to the due date.
This feature has been a part of Quicken for a long time and many people find it to be very helpful (myself included) so I do not think Quicken will remove a popular feature. But I do agree that users should have the option of being able to select whether or not their default register view shows that section expanded or collapsed.
If you wish to not have Quicken remind you of pending income and bill Reminders in this lower section at all, then you should check and edit your Reminders.  Under "Optional Settings" and in the line for "Remind me X days in advance" click on Change.  Then you can make sure the setting is changed to "0" days or to automatically enter the Reminders into your account register X number of days prior.

Getting back to the view in the Account Registers:  I find that generally Quicken will remember my Register views from one session to the next but once in a while it does seem to forget, most commonly (not always) after I update the version of Quicken.  It sounds like your last version update might have triggered Quicken to forget that you previously had it collapsed.
A few suggestions you might want to consider:
    1. Go to Edit > Preferences > Register > make sure the box for "Remember register filters after Quicken closes" is checked.  While this lower section is not a "filter" maybe it will also help to remember the view in the section below the register, too.
    2. Go to each account register and make sure that lower section is collapsed so hopefully Quicken will remember that when you close Quicken and into the next time you open it.
    3. If #1 & #2 do not help, you could report it as an issue to Quicken:  Help > Report a Problem.  If you do this it would be helpful to the Quicken team if you would take a snapshot of what you are seeing and send it (after making sure to black out any confidential information) with the report.
    4. If the problem persists you can make a product improvement suggestion at Product Ideas - Quicken for Windows.  Ideas submitted here are viewable by all Community members and if they like it they can vote for it.  Quicken team members do review ideas posted here and the more people who vote for an idea the more likely it is that the Quicken team will add it to their Product Development Plan.  If you do post the idea here be sure to vote for it yourself.
Did any of this help you resolve the issue?
