Once an account has been set up in Quicken the Account Type cannot be changed.  The only way to do that is to delete the account and try setting it up, again.
But first I'd ask if the account in question is a Venmo Wallet or a Venmo Credit Card?
If it is a Venmo Wallet then it being set up as a checking account is probably correct...this is also how the PayPal Wallet account sets up.
But if it is a Venmo Credit Card then it should be set up as a credit card account.  If it is not setting up as a credit card account, then you might want to try manually adding the account in Quicken (make sure the account you currently have set up has been at least deactivated or deleted first) as an Offline Account....but do not enter any Financial Institution Information on the General tab of Account Details (no data should be anywhere above the Contact Name field).  Once it is set up as manual account, go to the Online Services tab of Account Details, click on Set Up Now and follow the prompts.  If given the opportunity, be sure to Link the download during the set up process to your new manual Venmo credit card account
