I tried a million times and still not able to connect to Chase. Quicken says connection timed out.

Which connection method do you see listed directly under the Account name in the top left corner of the Account Register?   Direct Connect, Express Web Connect or Express Web Connect+?

Not sure why you got a message asking you to connect via Direct Connect.  It was announced in June that Chase decided to discontinue Direct Connect and Express Web Connect support and replace both connection methods with Express Web Connect+.
    • Starting in early Aug:  Chase began notifying Quicken users on a staggered basis when they could start reauthorizing their already set up Chase account(s) for EWC+.
    • At about the same time:  Chase announced that all new Quicken connections would need to be set up with EWC+...could no longer be set up with DC or EWC.
    • On 9/26:  Chase cut off support for DC and EWC.
The above applies to spending accounts (checking, savings, credit card, etc.).
Chase said that Investment and Retirement accounts would still need to be connected via DC for the time being.  I have not heard if that is still the case or if Chase has now cut in EWC+ for these types of accounts, as well.
Have your Chase Account(s) been previously set up for download?  If so, you should have gotten both email and notifications in Quicken of these changes.  You did not get them?
Or are you trying to set up the Account(s) for the first time?
Also, please state exactly which kind(s) of Chase account(s) are you trying to get setup for downloads.
Let me know and I'll see what I can do to walk you through the set up process.
