Can Chase "substitute account number" be turned on for Quicken

Wondering if "substitute account number" is turned on for users who have personal Chase checking accounts? Has anyone tried turning it on and, if so, what is the consequence in terms of linking to the existing account?

    I just noticed this also.

    I am wondering about this also.

    Chase FAQ says this.

    "Do you share full account numbers? What is a substitute account number?

    When you agree to share account numbers with a third party, we won't share your actual account or routing number. Instead—when necessary to allow transactions from eligible checking and savings accounts—we'll share a "substitute account number." This is a different account number that replaces your actual account number in each transaction to keep your details safe.

    Authorized third parties can use substitute account numbers for same-day or scheduled transactions as long as you continue to authorize it.

    For your security, you can turn off a substitute account number to prevent it from being used for new transactions. You can do this by disconnecting your account from the authorized third party."

    What does it mean when a substitute account number is turned off?

    "It means authorized third parties or any service they use won't be able to submit new transactions, either individually or as a part of a scheduled recurring transaction.

    When you remove an eligible checking or savings account that has a substitute account number, that substitute account number will automatically be turned off. Any payment requests already received will be processed, but it may take up to 3 days.

    To turn a substitute account number back on for new transactions, you'll need to share that account with your authorized third party again."

    I have not turned it on.

    Edit: I decided to turn it on to see what happens.

    I always had it on, and haven't really noticed much difference than what I would expect:

    Switching might cause the need to reauthorized, but I don't know.

    @Chris_QPW

    I just ran OSU and I was not asked to reactivate or reauthorize the accounts. (So far)

    @jl747

    Thanks for checking this out. I had an issue, unrelated to the substitute account number setting for Chase, with OSU. I was using a new linked checking account and had to deactivate all the Quicken accounts associated with the Chase login and then add Chase accounts to get OSU to work properly. Appears to be a quirk of how EWC+ works.
