Can't Open Quicken

I can't open Quicken on Windows and it does a blink in the background trying to open. A new update was installed Friday. Also there is a small arrow over my icon. I am an online subscriber. Any ideas how to fix it? I did a reboot and customer service is closed today.

    Hello @clokms,

I am sorry to hear about this problem with blinking user interfaces and screens. Thank you for letting us know about this here on the Quicken Community.

Have you tried restarting your computer after this happens - or is the 'reboot' being mentioned a restart of the Quicken program? You may additionally try uninstalling the Quicken software using the steps listed in this Support Article, then deleting Quicken from the Program Files (x86) folder. You may then reinstall the software after following those steps using the steps listed here

Also, is there any way you could provide screenshots of the 'arrow over the icon' that you're seeing - with personal information redacted as necessary? You can follow the steps explained in this FAQ in order to do this. Also note that you may drag and drop your images into your comment in order to submit images, as well.

I am eager to hear about your results.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

I have tried to reboot my computer with a full shutdown and no luck. I don't want to lose all my history by doing a reinstall as I have years of transactions of history in my files.

This is what my icon looks like

If your Quicken data file is in the correct and recommended location, C:\Users\_your_username_\Documents\Quicken then you need not worry about losing history. Your data file(s) will not be impacted by reinstalling the software.
That little arrow in the Quicken icon merely indicates that it is a shortcut to something: the Quicken program, your Quicken data file, something. If you want to dig into the contents of the shortcut, right-click it and select Properties.
