I have a new laptop and transferred my license to this new laptop. Everytime I bring up Quicken, it gives me this error "Your display settings may not give you the best Quicken experience. You continue with the current settings\ but some screens may not display properly".

Ofcourse there is the "dont show again" that I can check, but I am trying to figure out what this means.

The display for the laptop can only go to 1366x768. The extended display can go to 1920x1080.

Btw, the recommendation for the error screen "..that you can hide the account bar to make room for your data" and I tried hiding the account bar, and I don't really see visually an issue.

So does anyone know what this all means? And what's the error related to?

Quicken is warning you (not an error) that your screen resolution/Windows scaling is lower than the requirements.

    The requirements are:
    • Monitor: 1024x768 or higher screen resolution, 1280x1024 minimum for Large Fonts settings
It doesn't say this, but they mean with the Windows scaling set to 100%.  If you use a Windows scaling greater than 100% you have to do the math to see what the required resolution would have to be.  For instance, say the Windows scaling is at 150% then you have to multiple the resolution needed by 1.5, and as such, 1024x768 becomes 1536x1152 for normal fonts.  The required resolution/Windows scaling would be exceeded even with the 1920x1080 monitor resolution if one was using 150% Windows scaling.

So that is first thing to check.

But let's say that you meet the requirements on the extended display, but not on the laptop display, and you have Quicken on the extended display.  It is quite possible that in this case Quicken might still give you the warning even though you have met the requirements.  The reason is because there is a bug in Quicken that it looks at the "main display" for sizing information for the main window.  The general workaround for such a problem is to set the extended display as the "main display" in the Windows display settings.
