Investing accounts changed to Simple mode after R44.27 Upgrade [edited]

After Quicken updated to the above referenced latest version late last week, after one-step update ran, I noticed that the traditional registers for investment accounts were replaced by a new view and, more importantly, I also noticed that my investment account balances no longer matched the balances held by my financial institution. After some checking I determined that all of my investment accounts in Quicken were "off" by the cash balance amount in each account. In previous versions of Quicken, the cash balances always updated when one-step was run. In any event, I manually added the cash balances back to each account and I thought that the issue was resolved. However, when I ran one-step update again, the cash balances that I entered manually the day before were again missing and I once again had to manually enter them to each account.

So how do I fix this? Am I missing a setting somewhere? Is this an issue with the connection between Quicken and my financial institution (btw, as far as I can tell, there has been no change in the way this institution and Quicken connect) or is it something in the update? Also is there any setting to get back the traditional register view for investment accounts?

It sounds like your accounts were changed to "Simple" investing mode. To be doubly sure this does not happen again, go to each affected account, click on the gear icon at the top right, and select Edit Account details. Select Complete for the Tracking method then click OK. After you have done this, go to Edit > Preferences > Investments and uncheck the Enable simple investing box.

You will probably have to delete the cash balance adjustments you entered and any that were downloaded.

Jim - This did the trick!! The old register view re-appeared and Quicken automatically adjusted all the cash entries when one-step update ran. Not sure how the investing mode got changed but am very happy that the accounts all appear to be back to normal. Thanks again for providing this solution!!

I'm glad that fixed it for you. This has been a problem on and off for some time. I edited the title of your post to state the problem more clearly.
