Can't delete a transaction in my register
ScottVal
Hello-
I have a transaction in my checking account register which is in a weird state, and I can't delete it. The transaction shows "send," but when I connect to the bank, it does not change to "sent."
I tried using "cancel payment," but that does not work either. When I connect to my bank, it seems to ignore the request. Maybe it is because the bank never got the original payment request?
I also tried doing an "update status," but that didn't work either. The request is sent to the bank every time, but the bank seems to ignore it.
I checked my bank's website, and the transaction is not there.
So, how do I get rid of this transaction in my Quicken register?
Thanks for your help.

What is the financial institution?
ScottVal
Thanks for the reply.
The financial institution is UMB (Missouri).

Try holding down Shif+Ctrl when you try to cancel.

So I go into edit|transaction, and when I click on "cancel payment" I also hold shift-ctrl? I tried that and it doesn't act any different. It just says "cancel payment of .... for <date>?" yes|no|help. It seems like it will just send my bank another cancel request, and I'd hate to do that - it just might muddle things even more. (And "help" didn't do anything.)
I also tried "shift-ctrl-D" on the transaction, but nothing happened.
I'm thinking I might want to delete this account and start over with a clean register. This register goes back for 19 years, though. Of course I'd make a copy of my Quicken file first.

I just deleted the transaction with control-D. I have a theory that enough time went by (the transaction was dated 10/31/2022, and today is 11/4/2022), so Quicken let me delete it. So every is better now. Thanks.
