My mom has Quicken for Windows. She wants to be able to send me her file so that I can do her books, but then have me send her the file so she can work on it also. Is that even a thing with Quicken? Or does she need to get the online version for me to be able to access her files? I'm thinking something along the lines of the Accountant file like Quickbooks has.

There's no "Accountant Review" function in Q, as there is in QB.
And sending the file back an forth can lead to problems of it's own (including the erroneously named "too many datasets" error).
Have you considered remotely connecting into her computer and doing the work that way?
BTW, how would you "do her books" unless she sent you all of the supporting info/paperwork also?
