certificate of deposit

I am creating an IRA account and want to add an existing certificate of deposit to the account. I cannot find ANY information on how to do that. I have added it to the security list, but that does not add it to the account.

    It's a 2 step  process.
    1) Create the Security (i.e., the CD)
    2)  BUY the security in the account.

Thank you, I see that option. Unfortunately, I am not "buying" the CD, rather adding an account that I hadn't previously had on quicken with CDs that were purchased long ago, so I don't want to have them show up on my financial reports as purchases. Does that mean there is no option? Usually when you add an account, you start with the opening balance -- and these CDs would be part of that opening balance.

You can use an Add Shares transaction instead of the Buy. I would do it valued at $1 per share.
