Renaming rules don't always work

I have a number of payees where despite multiple attempts I cannot get the downloaded name to convert to my preferred name. Typically when I try to modify the rule I am told that there is already a Renaming Rule for the payee even though it doesn't get changed on my register. Anyone else having this problem and how to fix it?

    It sounds like Quicken thinks you are trying to create a new rule rather than modify an existing one. To edit a Renaming rule, go to Tools > Renaming rules. Find the rules that correspond to the resulting name you want and click on the triangle to the left of it to review the existing rules. You can change the resulting name by clicking on the pencil icon, and add or delete rules by clicking on the + or - icons.

    Also I have noticed that renaming is working differently since some of my accounts were changed from Direct Connect to EWC+. Please review this discussion
