How can I change the "reconciled through 07/31/22" so I can re-reconcile?

I've unreconciled all the transactions in my checking account for the year, so I can start over to fix errors. However, my balances are off because Quicken still thinks they're reconciled through a certain date. I've restarted quicken to see if it would clear, but that didn't work. Is there a way to do this so I can balance. Thanks for any help!

If every single transaction in the register has a blank in the Clr column, then you have no reconciliation.  Try closing and then reopening Quicken to see if that's the result.

As I said " I've restarted quicken to see if it would clear, but that didn't work"

Sorry, I somehow overlooked that statement.
Is there anything particular with that 7/31/22 date?
You should be seeing "The prior ending statement date: N/A" but instead Quicken presents that 7/31/22 date?
At this point I'd try the Copy & Validate process outlined here https://www.quicken.com/support/advanced-data-file-troubleshooting-correct-problems-quicken-windows  (Third item on page.)
The only way to affect that date that I know of is the enter "Rs" in the Clr column.  How about if you enter an "R" in the Clr column for the "Opening Balance" transaction?  Does that affect the date you see in the reconciliation?

Yes. For some reason, I didn't have an Opening Balance, (wouldn't I have needed that when I created the account?) so I added that as of 12/31/21. So now it shows the correct prior balance and date. I think I'm there now. Thanks for your help.

Even if you're able to get your reconciliations done at this point I'd suggest doing the Copy & Validate process.  You shouldn't have seen that 7/31/22 date if there were no "Rs" in the Clr column, so something is a bit off here.

OK, so the Opening Balance transaction was the problem.  But I am still confused by your "reconciled through ... " reference.  Where were you seeing that?

When I start a reconcile for a bank, credit card, or investment account (I reconcile to paper statements), Quicken shows a "Prior ending statement date".  Is that what you mean?

If I look at the account list (Ctrl-A), there is a "Last Reconcile" column with dates.  To the best of my knowledge, the dates are the same as my prior reference.  Is that what you mean?

Other than those references I don't know of a "reconciled through" reference.

In those cases I cited, I don't believe the date presented has anything to do with the Clr "R" status of any transactions in the register/transaction lists.  The dates are simply carryovers from the last time you went through the built in Reconcile process for that account.  That you later changed some of those Clr status setting does not change the date shown.

    Hope this helps
