Quicken crashing

I have been reading all the discussions regarding Quicken crashing right when a file is opened. This is now happening to me. I was on the phone with support yesterday and did all the troubleshooting to no avail. I discovered on my own how to validate a file as also suggested in many of the discussions. The validation returned no errors yet it continues to crash. This is very disheartening as what good is financial tracking software if you have to start over from scratch?
