When I enter any transaction, how do I keep Quiken from changing the order in my list?

I'm a novice user, having tried and quit Quicken several times. I've decided to get 'serious' with this attempt
In the past, I noticed that, when I enter various transactions, Quicken moves the transaction to a different place in the list. I understand that if the date changes but I don't understand what's happening if all the transactions are on the same date.
As an example: suppose I enter A,B,C,D,E,F. When I look at the list, I might see: A,F,E,C,D,B. Sometimes the entries are not even in the same group I entered but appear somewhere else completely.
The entries are always there but I would like every entry to follow in the order I entered them. Am I missing a setting that will prevent this?
Thanks.

Click on the GEAR icon in the upper right corner of the account register ... and then click on "Sorting Options"

Oops ... think my thanks was a little premature. There are 2 gears ... upper right and in the task bar. The gear in the upper right corner doesn't have that option ... it adjusts the dashboard. The other gear doesn't have that option either. Help isn't much help when I enter 'sorting options.'0

What version of Quicken are you running? Current subscription version has only 1 gear. Here's the sort options.

You can sort most of the register columns by just clicking on the column heading like DATE. If you click it again it will toggle and reverse the order. Are you in a individual account? While in a register, click on "Account Actions", select "Sorting Options" Or for earlier versions click Options at the top of the register on the right side. If you sort by anything other than the Date column you might not get a true running balance. So after you sort and look around be sure to sort it back by the date.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

Thanks to all who commented ... I found the sorting option. I hadn't entered an account, and was just looking on the dashboard. Once I put in an account, the gear and the sorting options were visible.
Thanks again. The issue is resolved.0
