unable to open backup file on local drive to set up new computer

Setting up new Windows 11 computer; backup is on the local drive; error message says 'unable to open' file.

Are you getting this message during a backup? Or when?Are you using Dropbox, OneDrive, etc to backup your Q data file?And, what's the EXACT wording of the message?

I would suggest changing the extension of the backup file from .QDF-backup to .QDF and opening directly in Quicken instead of restoring.Quicken Subscription HBRP - Windows 100
