Reconcile button at bottom is dim and dead. I can find no other reconcile item. Mac

Make sure you're looking at an individual account, and not an account group like "Checking" or "Credit Card".

You can also select to reconcile from the application menus: Accounts > Reconcile Account. But this will be dimmed at the same time as the button at the bottom, if, as Jon wrote, you haven't clicked on a single account (rather than an account group) in the left sidebar.
