Quicken categories - ability to deactivate categories [Edited]

I would find it very helpful if could deactivate a "category". I have several project categories that I don't want to delete for historical reasons, however the projects are complete and Quicken continues to assign these categories to uploaded transactions.

There are a couple of ways to deal with this issue.

1. Check Tools > Memorized Payee list to see if you have a Memorized Payee you are no longer using that uses the unwanted Category. If so, delete it.
2. Or you can disable automatic categorization for Payees that are not in your Memorized Payee List by un-checking the box at Edit > Preferences > Downloaded transactions
