Starting over

Hi Gang I have a noob question so please be kind. I really need to start over on my Quicken. What I think I need to do is remove all my old files and uninstall then reinstall Quicken. I really could use some help on this so I make sure I really get rid of all the existing files and start fresh. I really want to use Quicken to its fullest potential. I just acquired a rental property and want to really keep good records for the property.

Thanks in advance folks,
Keith

You don't have to un-intall, the data is all in the data file(s).  All you have to do is File->New Quicken File and give it a different name than what you have been using in the past.
Your file should be stored in the Quicken folder under Documents, so any .QDF file(s) in that folder other than the newly created file can be deleted.  Any files in the BACKUP folder in that location with the old file's name can be deleted also.
Once you have deleted the old data files, if you click on the files in the Recent file section of the File menu, Quicken will report that it can't find them and offer to remove them from the list, answer accordingly.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11
