File Conversion and Backup (Mac)
How do I convert old file (Q Mac Essentials)
JLBenson
I need to access a file from 2013. Message when I try to open it says
"You can’t use this version of the application “Quicken Essentials” with this version of macOS"
Any tips on how I can convert and open this file?

You either need (a) an old Mac with an older operating system (Sierra and older) which can run Quicken Essentials for Mac, or (b) a newer version of Quicken for Mac. The latter is likely your easier path. You can simply purchase a subscription to Quicken now, install the latest version, and it will import from your 2103 data file. (If you just need this as a one-time use to look up some old data, you could actually contact Quicken to cancel your subscription within 30 days and get your money back.) You could also buy a pre-subscription version, like Quicken 2017, if you can find one being sold for a moderate price on sites like eBay.
