Edit singular scheduled transactions

previous versions allowed a scheduled transaction that was automatically entered into the register to be edited. The latest version only allows the following choices: "Skip this one, Edit this instance and all future instances, delete this instance and all future instances"
It also won't allow the instance to be cleared or reconciled.
Please restore the functionality to change an instance generated from a scheduled transaction.

I would love to see where we can edit a future dated scheduled transaction. My instance is where I know I will be missing work and need to edit my future income. However, Quicken for Mac only allows me to edit the next upcoming series transaction. What I really needed to is to edit the upcoming one and then 2nd upcoming transactions. Currently, I have to let this transaction clear and pass, then wait till next week to be able to edit the next transaction. This make it more difficult to budget and plan properly.

Is this an Idea about Quicken for Windows or Quicken for Mac?
It's currently improperly categorized as a suggestion for improvement of the Quicken Community website.
In my Quicken for Windows, R 45.21, I do have an "edit this instance" selection when I right-click a future scheduled reminder's next instance in the register

Infurating this hasn't been fixed. The "Edit Transaction" feature should work without having to mark the transaction as deposited or edit the entire serires moving forward. Fix this Intuit!

@araccasey Are you talking about Quicken Windows or Quicken Mac? This thread is in the wrong category of this forum and appears to have comments from a mix of Windows and Mac users, which confuses things.

I'm a Mac user, so I don't know nearly as much about how Quicken Windows works. In Quicken Mac, a scheduled transaction is like a template for future real transactions, not thousands of actual future transactions, so there's not a way to edit individual future transactions — at least not without massively changing the architecture of the database for scheduled transactions. There is some limited functionality to allow you to edit the amount and date of the next scheduled transaction, but that's it. (I believe Quicken Windows works similarly.)

When you click on Paid or Deposited, it create a real transaction from the template, and then you can edit it however needed. I think if they used a different word than "Paid" or "Deposited" for scheduled transactions, it might remove the stigma about doing so. It the Quicken's Help, it refers to this as "posting" a transaction, but they probably wanted to make it more user-friendly and decided to use Paid/Deposited. The question I'd pose is: what problem do you have by making future instances as Paid/Deposited and editing them as needed? The transactions are still dated in the future, so it doesn't affect your current balance, but it does impact your future balance and budget as you'd want it to.

P.S. Quicken (the company) has been independent of Intuit for nearly a decade now. 😉
