Why are interest deposits in investment account not reflected in cash balance?
woodsonc1461
I am suddenly experiencing problems when entering interest payments in an IRA account. I enter the deposit but the amount shows N/A and it is not added to the balance in the account. If I click on the entry it shows the correct information but it isn't reflected. The help file said this could happen if you have placeholders in the account but there aren't any.

Have you made Placeholders visible by going to Edit > Preferences > Investments and making sure Show hidden transactions is selected?
With this problem, the placeholder will be at a later date than the transaction you are entering.
