How to sync Quicken between my desktop and my laptop (edit)

I have quicken installed on both my windows laptop and windows desktop. I cannot get the laptop to pickup the changes I am making on the desktop version even when I select cloud sync on my desktop. the laptop loads old data and values. how do I get these two devices to sync? thanks

    Cloud sync is NOT a method for moving data between devices.  Taking a backup on one and restoring to the other is the most reliable method.
    The cloud sync data is for display on QWeb and QMobile ... and it represents but a subset of your Q data file.
