Error 1603 - trying to install Quicken 2011 on Windows 10 (edit)

In trying to install my Quicken 2011 on my Windows 10 computer I get an error 1603? How do I fix it so I can install Quicken?

It's actually a Windows Installer error. Was Quicken already installed on this computer?

A long time ago but I uninstalled it before trying to put this one on it.

Please try running the installer program as Administrator. Right-click the program. Click "Run as Administrator" to execute the installation program.

If that is successful, download and install the available bug fixes for 2011

Old Quicken Patch downloads 2000+

A quick search returns what Greg_the_Geek mentioned being a Windows error. There are different things to try to fix. Maybe try an uninstaller app if some garbage was left from a previous install.

You might try creating a new Administrator account and installing with that. Sometimes the problem is the Windows user profile gets messed up for installing certain programs like Quicken.

You could also try the free Revo Uninstaller to remove any remanents of the previous Quicken installation.

There are many uninstaller apps. I've never used Revo but I've seen where it doesn't delete partially uninstalled programs. YMMV

Another suggestion is create a restore point in Windows before using an uninstaller. There are other things that you could try.
