Mobile will sync from desktop to app but not in reverse

The changes I make to the mobile app do not sync with my desktop, but every back to whatever is in my desktop program when I log back into the desktop. How do I fix this?

When you open the desktop program do you run Sync so the changed you'd entered into the Mobile app will sync with your desktop?
