Matter of principal… not the money! Product was working before I went to subscription model… now it does not.-1

Also ibm is not the solution … I Buy More!
Anyway thank you all for your inputs … consider this closed and not resolved!
Product is broken unless you pay for subscription.-1 -
just like cable tv, cellphones, most home utilities, and other “services” …
… before I went to subscription model (and let it expire)

@aramazd - you get what you pay for. Automated download costs Quicken money to support the infrastructure required. Those that want it pay for it; those that do not, don't.

Not the issue… don’t want automated download, just want the manual data import to work. Just like it was before I switched to subscription model. Thank you for the input0

FWIW, as I posted, importing .QFX files is considered part of Onlne Services. Even .QFX imports would stop working after 3 years on pre-subscription Quicken.

QFX I got over it, QIF is what should be working and it’s not per doc and per quicken tech support. I feel it only works with lower end quicken not what I have purchased/ upgraded to w/subscription!0

@ARAMAZD - where do you see it is supposed to work "per the doc'umentation?

There are other reasons besides cost to avoid upgrading.

Their is no problem importing QIF to subscription version Quicken - it is not blocked if the subscription expires. For the love of god, please try a properly formatted QIF file!

You're much better at all this than me…. I read thru that other thread - and guess I'm puzzled at a couple of things -
1 - why does the “warning message” appear for you - is it just for your older/expired versions ?
2 - why does my very simple QIF file from a Chase checking acct work just fine Importing into a random Paypal acct,
and looks a little different than the instructions suggest ?
Any comments or pointers …. @Chris_QPW!Type:Bank

^NOTES - from the other instructional thread ….
Open the QIF file in Notepad
and add the following four lines at the very beginning of the file:
!Account
NMyAccount
Txxxx
^
substituting the exact Quicken name of the account you want to import to for "MyAccount";
and substituting from the following list for "xxxx":
1.) "Bank" for checking or savings accounts
2.) "CCard" for credit card accounts
3.) "Invst" for investment accounts
"Save" the QIF file.0 -
I recall reading a post that the restriction and warning had been removed from the QIF import dialog. Don't recall the poster. But regardless of seeing the warning or not, a properly formatted QIF file can be imported to any account type.

Well not sure where the issue is, since even with the so called “proper formatted file” I do not even see my accounts in drop down .. as if per quicken none of them are part of updatable account. So even if the input is well formed or not .. i don’t even get that far to read the file… drop down is missing my 7 or so accounts that are already in quicken!
So thank you all for trying0 -
