I'm new to quicken. I write a ton of options in my brokerage accounts. I downloaded the quicken file, and imported that in. However, while calculating my networth, quicken mistakenly assumes that all shares are owned by me, and gives me a wrong net worth. How do I deal with that?

You would think that downloading investment transactions from a financial institution would work perfectly, but the sad part is that no infrequently they don't. They are brokers, not accountants.

Could you provide a screen shot of a spefic transaction in the transaction list where Quicken thinks you “own” the shares, and describe in words the nature of the transaction. That provides the needed information to provide an accounting entry that will, hopefully, fix the situation.
