Category List is adding Categories I previously deleted.

Question

Quicken is adding back deleted Categories to the Category List after I edited the list and eliminated categories that I will never need.  This has happened several times and I can't figure out why. Anyone know?

Not what is happening.  Didn't delete any investment accounts.  Some accounts beginning with underscore cannot be deleted so I hid the ones I didn't need.  No new accounts have been added since editing the categories.

What Categories are being added?

There are some Categories that are added automatically when you add a new account type. For example, a new Quicken file will not have the investing categories that begin with _underscores until you add the first investing account. I suppose if you have deleted some of these and add a new account, they may get re-added.

It is generally better to hide unused Categories rather than renaming them.
