How to Print Checks

Options
:) How can I print checks through Quicken? I have been trying for over a week and Quicken keeps stating “I have no checks.” I have new bills that require payment by check and it would be easier to do this process through Quicken rather than hand write them. Do I need to purchase checks from Quicken and then tell Quicken I have checks? Please advise me?

I've never actually printed checks out of Quicken so this is a shot in the dark…

If I've set up future payments and selected "Print" in the "Check #" column, Quicken will then tell me "You have checks to print." Do you have payments set up in your checking Account that have "Print" in that column?

Here's some Help information about getting started printing checks with Quicken
    https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/Printing+checks+in+Quicken

Printing checks, ordering Quicken-compatible checks from Intuit or other companies
Click File / Printer Setup / For printing checks to select the correct Check Style.
For 3-per-page personal size checks choose "Wallet Checks (Check 21 ...)", not "Wallet Checks" (unless you still use some very old stock from many years ago)
For 3-per-page business size checks choose "Standard Checks", not "Voucher Checks".
For 1-per-page business size checks with 2 stubs choose "Voucher Checks".
Canadian users need to select between 2 layout styles, e.g., old style "Voucher" vs. new style "Voucher - Image ready".
You may have to scroll the list of check styles up or down to see all available styles.

Also be sure to choose and test the proper selections for how to print a partial page in your printer … the settings to choose (e.g., horizontal vs. vertical feed) may depend on the make and model of printer that you use.

Quicken US version only: For a review of Quicken - compatible check styles and perhaps to order new check or envelope supplies, please see https://intuitmarket.intuit.com/checks and https://intuitmarket.intuit.com/envelopes/check-window (the website talks about checks for use with QuickBooks but the same style checks also work with Quicken) or order from any check printing company that offers Quicken/Quickbooks - compatible checks

    My 2cents' worth:
I use Voucher Checks (1 business size check + 2 stubs on an 8.5x11" sheet). My printers do not have a manual feed tray or 2nd paper tray that can easily be reconfigured to feed partial pages (1 or 2 checks left from a 3-checks-per-page sheet), so for my occasional check printing needs Voucher Checks are easiest to use.
When making a purchase decision for a new supply of check forms and considering your own check stock to use, consider how easy or difficult it is to feed special forms or odd-size partial pages into your printer.

just a couple of summary points -

1 - You will need to purchase checks designed specifically for the Quicken builtin printer templates.
2 - You tag each transaction with a "print check" vs entering a "check number"
3 - When ready, you will initiate the Print Checks command menu
4 - A dialog will be presented, for entering the actual pre-printed starting "check number" and destination physical printer.
5 - The checks will print, and the transaction "check number" field will be updated.
