What is the proper way to record cash received in lieu of a fractional share? This was done during a stock split and not sure how to properly record it.

The cash in lieu you received was the "proceeds" of a sale of that fractional share, so that's exactly how you (properly) handle it in Quicken. You might be able to look at your broker's site and see what lot or lots where that fractional share was deemed to have originated and mimic that behavior in Quicken.

The stock split transaction should have generated the fractional shares in your Quicken holdings. You would then sell those fractional shares for the cash-in-lieu amount received.
