Hello @tom.p.gray,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community, though we apologize for the trouble you are experiencing.
First, could you please provide screenshots of the issue you described above? If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on attaching screenshots. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
Also, since you are currently still running version release R49.33, to start with, I recommend updating your Quicken program to the latest version release; R50.5 and see if doing so will help resolve this issue.
To update, please navigate to Help > Check for updates, or you can download and install the R50.5 Manual Patch through this support article.
Let us know how it goes!-Quicken Anja

Anja, when I click [Help] - [Check for Updates] I get the following message: "You already have the latest version of Quicken ( Release R49.33 )."0
-
I will send screen shots tomorrow when I have new transactions to accept.0
-
I just sent two screen shots.0

When I launched Quicken this morning it suggested that I update to the latest release, which I did. I'm now on R50.8, Build 27.1.50.8. Unsurprisingly, that did not fix the problem.0

Thank you for following up.
To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.
Validate:- File
- Validate and Repair File...
- Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.
Super Validate:- File
- Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
- Super Validate File
- Click OK
- Close the Data Log
- Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
- Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!-Quicken Anja

Partial success! The regular Validate and Repair didn't fix my problem, although it apparently deleted a bunch of garbage transactions. The Super Validate and Repair deleted a corrupted Category. Then I was able to save a Note and Flag that I added while accepting a transaction. But it only worked once. I had 5 transactions to accept and after it worked for the first one it didn't work for the other 4. After it didn't work with the 2nd transaction I tried entering only a Note with the 3rd transaction and only a Flag with the 4th transaction. I tried both a Note and Flag with the 5th transaction but they weren't saved. Hopefully that's something for your team to work with.0
