One of my bank accounts shows the correct balance in the listing on the left side of my screen, but shows a different, incorrect balance where all the transactions are listed. This variance cropped up several months ago at the time that I renewed my subscription. How can I correct the balance in the transactions section without affecting the balance in the listing on the left?

Do you have a filter set on the register? At the top of the register, click on the reset button.

How about a screen shot with all of the Payees and Account names blotted out, just the numbers, be sure to include the column headers?

Could this be a difference of CURRENT versus ENDING balance? Are there future transactions in the register which would display a different balance for ending than it does for current. The Account Bar on the side of the window can be set to show either current or ending. Right click on some white space in the Account Bar to get the dropdown list to decide which is shown.

Thank you, Splasher. I will do that, and let you know if I get an answer. Any suggestions as to key words to look for in the FAQ?

Sorry, that was a generic reference that was attached to your comment. Anyway, as to your REAL reply about current versus ending balance, it's not that. In my case it is CURRENT versus CURRENT. I have one bank account which I use regularly. In the listing on the left it showed $404.83, which is the correct balance. In the section showing the transactions, it showed a completely different balance - $1,060.19. That's difference of $655.36. I found an ancient uncleared transaction of $645.36 and deleted that. Then I put in a cash over/short entry of $10.00. Now the balance in the detail section is right but the balance in the section on the left is off. I would like to get them to match but cannot figure out how to do it. Any thoughts?

Thank you for the tip. I did not realize there was a reset button. I found one at the top of the accounts list on the left and hit that. It offered me an update and I followed the prompts. That fixed it! Now the balance shown in both locations ids the same - $404.83 - and it matches what is actually in the bank. While I was poking around I saw the various display options, which I did not change as I am happy with them. Just to be sure, I went through all my accounts and the balances all match out. So thank you - problem solved.
