quicken 2004 deluxe is requesting a password that I am sure that I have not changed
a month ago in May 2023, I updated my books. I have not gone into Quicken 2004 deluxe since. When I put my password in, it now says that the password you entered does not match the stored password.
Did quicken request for the password to be changed in the past 33 days? If not, what would cause my password to change?

Caps lock or an upper/lower case issue?
Also since the password is on your data file and not on Quicken itself, you might try restoring a backup.

Yes I have tried with upper and lower caps.
Has there been a requirement in the past month to change the password, do you know?

Sudden onset of a password where none existed before is an indication of data corruption. Have you tried restoring a backup?
