Updating a restored back up file

Whenever I "restore a backup file" or "open a quicken file" then update that file I get a years worth of transactions that claim to be new. I have to delete each one of them to get back to normal. I do this when I switch from my laptop to my desktop. Is there a way to do this without all the duped transactions?

How are you doing that switch? That may be the issue

I save it to a thumb drive as a backup file. I even tried saving it to office cloud and opening it up that way. But I get the same results.

Is your file set to automatically run a one step update when opened? If so, you might turn that option off.

What download method is being used and from what financial institution?
