Can I connect my checking account to my credit union to download transactions and not loose old data

I just upgraded to Window subscription from Quicken 2009 (with a quick trip through 2013 to be able to convert my data). I want to connect my existing accounts to my credit union and not loose many years of data. Every option I have tried required me to create a new account. Is there someway to make that connection or sync old account to newly created account?

That shouldn't be the case. In the (currently manual) Account you should be able to click on the "Online Services" tab of the Account Details screen, click on "Set up Now..." and work through the dialog to get connected to the credit union. You will get a screen called "Add Account", but the screen should show you the name of the file in Quicken and the "Action" drop-down menu should allow your to link it to that Account.
