Hello @onelane,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue. I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. When did this issue first start? Is this happening with a new install or was it previously working and is now suddenly throwing an error? Have you tried installing the recommended .NETFramework client? If so, what happens? Have you tried restarting the computer? Do you have a VPN, antivirus, or firewall active? If so, have you tried pausing or temporarily disabling them in case they're interfering with the program's ability to launch? Are you getting this error with any other programs on your computer? Which Windows OS are you using (Windows 10, Windows 11, etc)? Is it the main operating system you use, or is it running in a virtual machine?
Thank you.
Quicken Kristina

Take a look here - to see what versions of .NET are installed -
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\

I have the same problem. Quicken was working fine until yesterday, 8/9/23. Then when I tried to open Quicken I got the message that .NET v4.0 was required. I tried to load .NET but an error message said it was already loaded. I deleted Quicken from my system then downloaded a new copy and tried to execute that. Same problem. I talked to Quicken support and after a number of tries I was told it was a problem with Microsoft and to call them. Don't know what else to do.

What Windows version are you running?
Did Microsoft install an automatic Windows Update last night?Check with Microsoft Support or see if uninstalling KB…948 resolves the issue.
P.S.: Don't allow automatic Windows Updates if you allow Quicken to keep running unattended overnight. The unexpected Windows reboot might damage your Quicken data file.
IMHO, it's safer to shutdown Quicken when you're done for the day and configure it to create a backup of your data file every [1] times you close Quicken. (See Edit / Preferences / Backup)0
