Deposits First Transaction of the Day
Is there a setting where I can have quicken show deposits as the first transaction of the day?

Unfortunately, Quicken for Windows does not have this feature available right now.
Therefore, I'd like to refer you to this active Idea post regarding this topic instead. @James114 if you have your register preferences set to show reminders in the register, try changing the time frame for reminders to be shown. For example, if the setting is currently to show reminders for the next 6 months, change the setting to show reminders for the next 30 days.
This is a long standing bug that some of the time frame settings for showing reminders in the register cause the sort order to not sort deposits first. I am surprised there needs to be an idea post to fix the bug.

Would it help to change the order of the register to By Order Entered? You can sort by that.

I set the deposit date to the day before.

The premise is faulty.
At both banks where I was a check processing systems manager, and several where I was a consultant, DEBITS were posted first.
They were looking for "Daylight Overdrafts" which are a possible indication of check-kiting.
