How do I get the S&P 600 Small Cap Index added to my investment view? The price ticker symbol is SML. I've tried adding it as INDEX:SML, which didn't work, and just SML, which also didn't work. I have the S&P Mid Cap Index, whose ticker is INDEX:MID and that works well.

INDEX:SPC should be what you are looking for.

Pull up your security list - ctrl-y

Check box to show hidden securities

Click symbol header to sort by ticker

Look for an already existing security with SML ticker.

I don’t think the INDEX prepend is necessary or appropriate.

The security should not have a Security Type = Market Index. Likely Mutual Fund is a better choice.

That didn't work. And when I change it to a mutual fund I lose it in the Investing window since it isn't in an account.

Do you own shares of it? If so, you either need to buy shares or add shares (two different but similar transactions).

You may also need to customize whatever view you are using to include that security.

It's an index. No one owns share of an index.

    Thanks. INDEX:SPC worked.
