    That's two different things going on there. Are you under the impression that they are one and the same?

    Backups should reside on your computer. These backups don't reside in the "cloud." Backups are necessary in case you need to recover an earlier file if something's gone wrong in your current file.

    What's in the cloud are not "backups" and they are unavoidable these days, largely because of the switch away from Direct Connect by Financial Institutions.
