"Minimum Gain" …. Is There Such a Thing as "Minimum Tax"?

When selling securities, "Select Lots" provides four selection buttons: "First Shares In", "Last Shares In", "Minimum Gain", and "Maximum Gain".

What I really need is a button for "Minimum Tax". I envision being able to specify the holding times defining "Long Term" and "Short Term" along with their respective capital gains tax rates (these should default to the current IRS values). Clicking the button, Quicken would then work its magic to identify which lots to sell that would produce the minimum tax liability. Does such a thing exist?

No, such an option does not exist.

You can click the ellipses in the upper right hand corner of your post and make it an "Idea", if you'd like.

The concept is discussed under this idea - essentially a fifth choice

Isn’t that what the Capital Gains Estimator is supposed to do?
