Is there a way to export a report to Excel and keep the bold formatting for total rows?

I used Quicken for Windows Desktop.

I have tried various was to export a full year Itemized report, but no matter how I do it, the bold formatting disappears and I'm left with a mess to try to reformat to make it usable.

Having the category totals above the breakdown is annoying already (in my opinion), but when the bold formatting is gone, I have to spend another 15 minutes trying to make the data in Excel readable.

Has anyone figured out a workaround for this?

I don't believe there is a workaround to the general "formatting" issues here, it's all simply "data" to be exported and received. I absolutely agree with you as to "totals" above the items being summed. Quicken changed to that format many years ago and I've always hated it and it makes no sense to me.

It's not really a workaround but if you have a report that you are always exporting that has a consistent number of rows (maybe a Spending report?), what I would do is export it (actually Copy to Clipboard works well for this) and then in paste it into Excel. In Excel you would have a formatted worksheet (or area in the same worksheet if you wish) that has formulas referring to the pasted section. You could even change it so that the totals are on the bottom in this formatted section if you prefer that.

@Tom Young I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed by the weird formatting!

@bmciance That would be a great idea, except the number of rows changed each time I run the report. Thanks for the idea!
