I use quicken to enter categories (Q Mac)
switched fro Q windows to Mac and really about ready to ask for my money back.
I download 98% of my transactions, so data entry no big deal. I use quicken to enter catagories, and in a register there’s no way to have all transactions show the category in a second line. HELP! How do I fix this?

You can't. Registers in Quicken Mac only have one line per transaction, there's no option for a second line. You can configure how large each line is, go to the View menu & select "Register Text & Row Settings…". You can also configure which columns are displayed on the line, click the Columns button in the lower right corner.

If you had a subscription for Quicken Windows, that same subscription allowed you to download and use Quicken Mac; there shouldn't have been any additional cost for which you'd need to get your money back.

The suggestions above are good ones, but it would help us help you if you explained why you are wanting to see the category on a second line in the register.
As someone who came from the 2-line register display in the old Quicken for Mac, I understand that it can be initially jarring to get used to a new user interface. In my case, after a little use, I came to prefer the one-line register much more than the 2-line register I had used for 20+ years — I find scrolling and looking for something in a particular column is easier when alternating lines don't have different data fields — but it took a little use until I came around to that.
If you're struggling with the Category column, what is it that's causing you problems?
- As noted above, you can make the Category column wider or narrower; just click and drag on the right border of the column heading.
- If you're seeing only the sub-category (e.g. "Fuel" or "Fast Food") and not the full category (e.g. "Auto:Fuel" or "Dining:Fast Food"), there's a Settings option for that: go to Settings > Register and select "Display Short Names" or "Display Long Names" to suit your preference.
- If you need to make your Quicken window too wide to see all the columns in your register, try narrowing some of them which you don't need to be as wide, and eliminating any columns you don't actively use. (For instance, Quicken defaults to showing the Attachments column, but since I don't use attachments, I hide that column. But I use memos extensively, so I show that column.) You can see what columns there are, and change whether they are shown or hidden by clicking on the Columns icon in the bottom menu bar.
If none of those suggestions help, please do explain what you feel the issue is.
