Have you tried "hiding" them on the Account List (Tools menu)?

By "They are closed accounts" are you saying that they have been closed at the bank?
What is their status in Quicken? Have you marked them as closed, too?
Accounts keep showing in One Step Update Settings as long as they are still connected for downloading.
The minimum you need to do is to deactivate these closed accounts (Edit Account Details / Online Services tab / Deactivate)
After that go into Tools / Manage Hidden Accounts and consider marking them as "close the account in Quicken". You should do so only if the account is correctly reconciled and shows $0.00 balance0 -
I have a closed account showing in OSU list. It still shows as direct connect in the account details but I cant change it because it closed
